The sale of illegal, unsafe, or other products listed as prohibited for sale, is strictly prohibited. It is each vendor’s responsibility to carefully review our policies before listing a product. Vendor must also understand that they are responsible for ensuring that their products follow all applicable laws, even if the product is not specifically described in our policies. Laws change frequently, so sellers should monitor regulatory changes regularly and take appropriate action.
Jumia works proactively with regulators, brands, vendors, consumers to ensure that only authorized and safe products are sold on Jumia. You can report products breaching these rules in the report a product form
Pre-approval to list products
Certain brands or categories of products may require pre-approval to list products or to add your offers to existing products. Please contact our support if you seek pre-approval to list such products.
Consequences for violations
Violations of Jumia’s listing policies may result in actions such as:
- Deletion of product listings
- Suspension of product creation privileges
- Returning inventory
- Destroying inventory in our warehouses without reimbursement
- Terminating the business relationship
- Suspension of or permanent withholding of payments
- Sale of illegal or unsafe products can also lead to legal action, including civil and criminal penalties
- Jumia reserves the right to decide in its sole discretion about whether or not a listing is appropriate
