What types of products are we allowed to sell on Jumia?

You can sell products that fall under the following categories: Mobiles and tablet, fashion products, home accessories, office furniture, computers, cameras, electronic devices, watches, sunglasses, children’s products, health and beauty products, car accessories, sporting equipment, games and gaming devices, entertainment, books, music, wedding accessories, and groceries

What types of products are we prohibited to sell on Jumia?

Jumia’s reputation relies first and foremost on sellers, this is why you cannot sell any of the products listed below because of their direct potential harm on JUMIA. The following list is forbidden:
  1. Counterfeit currencies and money bills that were rejected by the Financial Regulatory Authority.
  2. Health products without a certificate of approval from the Ministry of Health.
  3. Explosives
  4. Fireworks and all material used in the production of bombs and explosives.
  5. Historical documents.
  6. Documents related to hacking websites.
  7. Weapons and ammunition.
  8. Counterfeit products.
  9. Human organs
  10. Adult and child molestation products.
  11. Medical products and medication.
  12. Supplements.
  13. Alcoholic beverages.
  14. Drugs.
  15. Vitamins.
  16. Tobacco and all products related to ecigarettes and hookah

What is the required information to create a store on Jumia?

What is the Seller Center?

Seller Center is a system that allows the seller to operate his products on his online store in JUMIA.

How do I use the Seller Center on Jumia?

This system is easy to use, you can check our complete guide online through Jumia’s Training Center.

My Seller Center account is not activated, why? Or why are my products not appearing on the website?

If you are a new seller, your account’s daily order number will be limited to one order only until you attend the training and pass the new seller test. This could also happen if your cancellation rate increases to 10% or more, or returns rate for quality reasons reaches 5% or more or for not adhering to the Service Level Agreement which states that orders must be fulfilled within 48 hours, or other reasons, you can contact Seller Support to find out about them

Yes, it is available, all you need to do is click here and make sure to select Advanced Training > Content Workshop, then choose the date that is suitable for you, or head to our YouTube channel and watch the educational video.

Displaying and creating my products on Jumia

How can I display my products on JUMIA?

You can use the Seller Center to start selling products. The process differs according to the availability of your products on Jumia. If the product (s) are already available on Jumia: You can easily add these products through the Sell your Products with Us feature. All you need is to add the SKU, price, and product quantity. If your product (products) are not available on Jumia’s website: You can create many new products one by one, or in bulk by uploading the creation template on the Seller Center. You will need the following information to create new products:
  • Product name
  • Detailed product description
  • High quality pictures of the product
  • Price
  • Inventory

What are the different methods to add products?

What is the required information to add products?

Why is my new product not displayed on the website?

You product status may be pending for the following reasons:
  • New products take a maximum of 48 hours to appear on the website due to the quality check process.
  • If the product does not meet the minimum quality standards.
  • Incomplete product description.
  • Poor product image quality
  • If obtaining an approval from the Ministry of Health is required in the case of Fast Moving Consumer Goods.
  • If it is necessary to send product invoices in the case of brand products.

Can my customer rate products and write a comment about it? And why is that important?

Yes, the customer who have purchased your product can rate your product and write a detailed comment about it, which is an important factor in improving your sales on Jumia. Through these comments and ratings, you can prove your credibility to the client.. A client always cares about the product’s reviews before purchasing, as the client gets more encouraged to buy a product with good reviews, since product review is one of the most used criteria to rate your performance as a seller on Jumia.

Managing orders

How can I manage my orders?

You can directly fulfill your orders through the Seller Center.

How will I be notified when I receive an order?

You will be notified through email once your receive an order through Jumia, but you will need to check the Seller Center on a daily basis. All your orders will be displayed in the Seller Center from “Orders” > “Manage Orders”. When the client completes an order, order status will be changed to “Pending”.

What should I do when I receive an order?

•After you receive the order, you will need to follow these steps to prepare it: 

•Receive the order and package it

•Print shipping reports and order documents

•Update order status within 24 hours

Where can I track my orders?

You can check your order overview from the Home Page of Jumia’s Seller Center under the “Orders” section

What is the available time frame for fulfilling orders?

You have 48 hours, not including Fridays nor official holidays to prepare and ship your order to avoid order cancellation. Your adherance to the specified time frame (24 hours) will help you increase your Seller Rating and client satisfaction.

Information about shipping and preparation through Jumia

What are Jumia’s shipping models?

  • 2 different shipping models are available on Jumia.
  • In the case of the shipment of small and large products, we will group your products at the corresponding drop off center within 24 hours of the order completion on your system.
  • Jumia Express service, which is a value added service that allows you to store your products at our warehouse and JUMIA manages the packing and ships them directly to your customers, click here  for more information.


How can I ship my orders from Jumia’s Seller Center?

  • Print all the necessary documents

How can I package my products before delivering them to Jumia’s warehouse?

  • Order packaging material ahead of time

What should I do in case I run out of packaging material?

Order preparation fees

What are the order preparation fees?

Order preparation fees are service fees deducted from your account based solely on the orders that have been successfully delivered to your customer.

Are the preparation (processing) fees applied according to the number of products or orders?

Order Preparation (processing) fees are applied on each item whether they are in your storage or at JUMIA’s warehouse according to the following table

Can I register at more than one drop off center?

No, each seller can only register at one drop off center.

Why do we perform a quality check on your product at the drop off center?

  • To make sure the products meet the client’s expectations.
  • To avoid product returns.
  • To increase sales.


How can I be exempted from product quality check?

  • Your store’s quality return rate will be observed monthly, and when it reaches 0% quality return rate, your products will be exempted from the quality .
  • Check the process at Jumia’s drop off center. All you have to do is follow the tips below:
  • Fulfill client orders by guaranteeing that the product meets specifications, i.e. (same color, size, and specifications).
  • Avoid shipping damaged products.
  • Follow packaging instructions during packaging to avoid damaging it.

What is Jumia’s minimum commission rate?

There is a minimum commission rate of “10 EGP per product”. This only applies to products that have commission rate lower than 10 EGP. To learn the commission rate for all categories, you can check the commissions table. The minimum commission rate will not be applied to the following products: • Jumia Express • Baby diapers • Grocery

When am I required to pay for services and commissions?

Commissions and value added services fees will be deducted from your expenses on a weekly basis.

What is the return policy for sellers on Jumia?

Jumia clients can return products in the following cases:

Receiving a damaged or faulty product

The product specifications do not meet the advertised specifications

Receiving an order with wrong or missing products

If the client withdraws his purchase within 14 days according to the Consumer Protection Agency procedures, or up to 30 days in the case of damaged products

Information about expenses

When and how do I receive my payments?

Payments will be done through bank transfer to your bank account specified on your Seller Center account. Jumia performs payments every 7 days for the products that have been delivered. Please make sure you enter your bank account details correctly on the Seller Center to avoid any delays.

How can I confirm my bank account details?

In your Seller Center account, you can go to Settings > Your profile

How do I get my Seller ID when required?

From the Seller Center, go to Settings > Your profile > Seller ID.

What are the reasons that could cause the delay of my payment?

The reasons:

  • Unavailable bank account information
  • Incomplete bank account details
  • Personal registered bank account, which makes the transfer process illegal.
  • Contact was not submitted
  • Negative balance available on the current invoice

How can I track my expenses on the Seller Center?
