Add a brand
When creating a product, you can select your brand from our existing list of brands.
In the “Add a product” section, start typing your brand in the brand field, and select your brand from the drop down list. When using the template file upload to create or update products, select a value among the available values in the “Brands” tab of the file.
If your brand does not exist yet in our catalog, you can request the adding of your brand to our catalog by submitting a request in our vendor claim form. To ensure the existence of the brand, please attach to your form request:
- a link to your brand website
- Or links to images showing your branded products with the brand logo or brand name visible on the product, in a permanent manner (removable label, sticker are not considered). You can host images on https://postimages.org/ to generate image links.
The review and creation of a new brand may take up to several days to reflect on the product creation menu of our platform.
Selling restrictions – selling authorization
Jumia is committed to protect intellectual property rights, and ensure only safe and authentic products are sold on our platform.
To uphold this commitment, we may place selling restrictions on the following attributes:
- Individual products
- Brands
- Brands within a specific category
- Categories
- Sub-categories
When trying to add a product, you may be notified that only authorized vendors can sell products for the selected brand.
To seek approval to sell products of this brand, you can raise a request on vendor claim form, make sure to attach at least one of the following document:
- Letter of Authorization from the brand owner, to distribute their products (brand license, sale/distribution contract)
- Certificate of authenticity (This is a document that certifies the origin of a product).
- An invoice from the brand owner or an authorized supplier
Our commercial team, whose decision will be executed by our content team will review the request.
