What is Out of Stock (OOS)?

– Once a customer orders one of your products through Jumia.com, you will have 48 hours to pack the order, update the order status on the Seller Center and deliver the order to your drop off station, Otherwise, your order will be canceled as “Out of Stock” which may subject you to limiting the number of your daily orders (DOL).

Daily Order Limit (DOL)

Daily order limit is the maximum number of orders you can receive daily. Once you reach this limit, your store products will not be displayed on the website until the following day.

Pending to Shipped Order Limitation (PSOL)

Limiting the number of pending to ship orders is setting the maximum number of orders that can be under the status “Pending orders”. Once you reach this limit, your products will not be displayed on the website until you ship at least one order.

What is the purpose of DOL/PSOL?

– The purpose of using DOL and PSOL is twofold:

  • Avoiding customer dissatisfaction and disappointment, and not wanting to shop from your store again due to poor customer experience.
  • Protecting you from being subject to Out of Stock penalties (OOS) and from customer dissatisfaction with the service received, and therefore unlikely to order from your store again.

Why is avoiding out of stock important?

Success in Jumia relies greatly on managing your product inventory. Customers will not want to order products that are not available at your store.

– The impact of out of stock products is evident in two aspects:

  •  The customer will prefer to buy the same product from another seller and may not prefer to buy from your store again.
  •  You will be required to pay a fine to Jumia (For more information on penalties).
